Richard N. Fiore, CPC, CTS, -- began his professional career in 1976. He entered the environmental recruiting industry in 1986 after a ten-year career in the petroleum industry as an exploration geologist. He has established himself as one of the nation's leading recruiters dedicated to the recruitment and placement of Environmental, Health, and Safety professionals.
His academic credentials include a BA in Geology, with high honors, from Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota in June 1973, and an MA in Geological Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin in May 1976.
Richard previously owned for eight years a recruiting firm dedicated exclusively to the placement of environmental, health, and safety professionals. In June 1994, he merged his practice with Search Consultants International, Inc. In the 22 years from April 1986 through March 2008, he has placed 458 EHS professionals nationally into permanent positions in industry and consulting.
He attributes his success to a broad knowledge of the industry, excellent matching, and listening carefully to the needs of clients and candidates. "I won't send out a lot of resumes, but what I send will be on target. Client companies pay me for placing people, not sending resumes, so I do my best to understand my clients’ needs, my candidates' qualifications, their motivation for seeking new employment opportunities, their geographic flexibility, other moving factors, and compensation needs. That’s why almost 90% of offers to my candidates are accepted. When I call candidates about new jobs I have received, they can be sure that I am not wasting their time, and that they will have a much better chance of securing the job they want by working collaboratively with me than using other placement means."
